(1) Outdoor substation.
In addition to the control and DC power supply equipment in the outdoor substation, the primary equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers and blocking barriers are all installed outdoors. This kind of substation construction area is small, the construction cost is low, and the substation with higher voltage is generally selected for outdoor settlement.
(2) Indoor substation.
The primary equipment of the indoor substation is placed indoors, reducing the total land occupation, but the construction cost is higher, suitable for urban residents full area, or located in the coast, salt lake, chemical plant and other areas with high air pollution level.
3) Underground substation.
In large cities where people and industries are highly concentrated, because the city consumes a lot of electricity and is full of buildings, setting up substations underground in large buildings, roads and parks in the city can reduce the land occupation. With the opening of urban power grid reconstruction, substations located in urban areas and even large-scale link substations will use more underground substations. Most of these substations are unmanned substations.
(4) Box-type substation.
Box-type substation, also known as pre-installed substation, is a compact combination of transformers, high-voltage switches, low-voltage electrical equipment and their connections and auxiliary equipment. According to the different samples of main wiring and meta-equipment, it will be assembled and settled in one or several sealed box shells in a certain way. The box-type substation is planned and produced by the factory. It has compact structure, small area, high reliability and convenient equipment. It is now widely used in residential quarters and parks.
Box-type substations generally have a small capacity and a voltage level of 3kv ~ 35kv. With the opening of the power grid and the trek of begging, the voltage plan has been continuously expanded. Now 132kv box-type substations have been produced.
