1. 2. Creepage

3. Partial discharge
 
In a solid dielectric with a gas or liquid, when the local field strength of the gas or liquid of the breakdown field strength reaches its breakdown field strength, this part of the gas or liquid starts to discharge. Partial discharge is generally caused by the special concentration of local electric field inside the insulator or on the insulating surface.
 
The humid air in the cabinet will cause condensation on the surface of the internal parts of the high-voltage switchgear, resulting in a significant reduction in the initial discharge voltage and flashover voltage of the parts, and a significant increase in discharge. Each partial discharge will have some effect on the insulation medium, slight partial discharge has little effect on the insulation of power equipment, and the insulation strength decreases slowly: while strong partial discharge will make the insulation strength drop quickly. This is an important factor in the insulation damage of high voltage power equipment.
 
These problems of partial discharge, creepage and corrosion of high voltage switch cabinet caused by humidity can be solved by installing dehumidifier of switch cabinet.
